Famous carnatic music legend Sri Mangalam pally Bala Muralikrishna passed away today 1930-2006


Mangalampally bala murali krishna of 86 years old who was born in shankaragupatnam in East godavari district, Andhra Pradesh passed away on 22nd November.

He is well known for his carnatic music. He is a multi talented and play back singer, composer and actor.His father is also a well known musician and mother is a famous Veena player. His interest towards music was observed by his father and joined him at parupalli Ramakrishna panthulu. From there he learnt carnatic music and at the age of 6 he started giving shows. At the age of 8 at vijayawada tyagaraja Aaradhana he gave his full fledged show, and young Muralikrishna was given the prefix to his name “Bala” by munusuri suryanarayana murthy who is a well known Harikatha performer.  since then Muralikrishna is known as Bala murali krishna.

Bala Muralikrishna have 25000 shows till now he is well known in popularizing the keerthanas of Ramadasu and annamacharya. He entered into the film industry by the movie baktha prahalada as narada and acted in various films.He composed around 400  compositions in various languages which includes devotional and varnams, krithis javalis, thillans and which are are having 72 melakartha ragas including composing music for few movies.

For his work Indian government awarded him with padma vibhushan, padma bhushan, Padma sri, awards. And apart from these three major awards he is awarded with numerous number of awards.
